Hippo Campus Announces New Album “Flood”, Shares New Song “Paranoid”
American alt-rock band Hippo Campus, consisting of Jake Luppen (lead vocals/guitar), Nathan Stocker (lead guitar/vocals), Zach Sutton (bass/keyboard), and Whistler Isaiah Allen (drums/vocals) and DeCarlo Jackson (trumpet), has announced their fourth studio album “Flood” will be released on September 20, 2024.
The album comprise a 13-track, which the band recorded with producers Caleb Wright and Brad Cook in just 10 days at Sonic Ranch on the Texas border.
The band said of the album, “During the past couple years we wrote over 100 songs that we pieced together in every which way, and found that this body of work is what represents us best. we wanted to be precise, intentional with this album. where we came from, where we are now, it all feels appropriately displayed in these songs. It wouldn’t be here without Caleb Wright, who demanded our best; who said we shouldn’t try if we didn’t intend to make our best music yet. And Brad Cook, who shepherded us when we needed guidance.”- From the album, the band released a new song “Paranoid” along with a Rhys Scarabosio-directed music video on July 16, 2024.
The song is the third single off of the album, following “Tooth Fairy” and “Everything At Once”.
The track was written by Jake Luppen, Nathan Stocker, Whistler Isaiah Allen, and Zach Sutton. Produced by Caleb Wright, and Brad Cook.
The band said of the song, “‘Paranoid’ is the collection of sun flares plastered against your eyelids after falling asleep outside. What’s left of whipping shitties in your self-conscious for too long. It’s a hard look in the unforgiving mirror and the sobering realisation that not all questions have answers.” -
