American indie-rock singer-songwriter James Allen Wright, aka Jimmy & the Veil released his debut song “Diamonds” on July 12, 2024.
The track highlights alternative and punk influences, with lyrics that convey a more profound narrative.
Also, the song illustrates a dim time in Wright's life and explores the difficult emotions he dealt with.
The track was written by James Allen Wright and produced by Will Beasley at The Bakery Recording.
“I was in the darkest place that I have ever been in personally. 'Diamonds' was me exploring the darker feelings I was battling in that season,” James Allen Wright said of the song. “My everyday life was filled with the pressure of presentation, so much so that it oppressed my innate passion to be a genuine, unapologetic artist. The artist in me was crying out, and the studio therapy that emerged with it awakened this entire project. I felt every word of this project, and my hope is that listeners feel it too.”- James Wright's musical journey began in high school as a lyricist, continuing to college, where he began playing the guitar.
He joined various bands before founding Jimmy & the Veil in the summer of 2023.
Jimmy & the Veil derives from his childhood nickname, “Jimmy,” and symbolizes the genuine substance he aims to unveil behind the elusive facade of everyday life.
