  • Henry Green Announces New Album “Familiarity”, Shares New Song “Isla”

  • Bristol-base electronic producer and singer-songwriter Henry Green has announced his third studio album “Familiarity” will be released on September 13, 2024.

The album is his first body of work in four years since the 2020 album “Half Light”.

Henry Green said of the album, “This album feels like it might be the last for a while. For a long time, I feel I've been making music with a grey cloud over my head. I never want this reflected within the music itself, so it feels right to step back and work on new things.”

He continued, “In contrast, 'Familiarity' is a collection of songs that feel natural, open and warm. I wrote a lot of music over the last few years, but the songs that make up this album always felt the most familiar, the most like home. I wanted to share something with you that felt like sun peeping through the clouds; intimate and expansive in equal measure.”
  • From the album, he released a new song “Isla” on July 10, 2024.
Forming a lush-like listen that's drenched in rich orchestral instruments [trumpet, saxophone, and strings] and laced with delicate vocals, the song is an irresistible single that boasts a rejuvenated feel.
The track was written and produced by Henry Green.

Henry Green said of the song, “Isla was originally a sample based beat that naturally developed into a vocal based track. The groove was always integral to the idea, along with the vocal cuts, originally from a session I did with the wonderful Andreya Triana. I built around those elements, leaning in to more organic, live sounds.. rich layers of trumpet, sax and strings to juxtapose the more delicate keys and tuned percussion. It always felt like a slight departure from my usual style, so I did find myself questioning it regularly, shifting parts around and retracking elements until it felt natural. It definitely feels like this song could've taken so many different routes, but I finally settled on this arrangement. I love the way the drums feel, and I love the simplicity of the lyrics.”
