Artemas Premieres New Song “dirty little secret” on BBC Radio 1
London-based singer-songwriter Artemas will release his upcoming sophomore mixtape “Yustyna” this Thursday (July 11).
From the mixtape, he premiered a new song “dirty little secret” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song is the second single off of the mixtape, following of the release “i like the way you kiss me” back in March.
It was written and produced by Artemas.
Artemas told Jack Saunders about the song, “This is the song that's kind of we made it the same week as 'i like the way you kiss me'. It's kind of the follow up. It's got a bit more heart than 'i like the way you kiss me'. I'm a nicer guy on the record. It's my redemption.”
He continued, “The process is like, very, I get on the mic, and I just mumble stuff. And whatever comes out, I don't know. I feel like I'm not really in control of it. And then I build the song around that. And it's like, it's not all of it is true. Some of it's true. And I try not to overthink.”- The new mixtape comprises a 15-track, and is the follow-up to the 2024 mixtape “Pretty”.
Artemas said of the mixtape, “I think the whole idea of this project is just, I wanted like an outlet where I can make like an extended version of myself. Something that was larger than me, like I didn't just like that's what I enjoy.”
He continued, “It's called 'Yustyna'. And every song has been made post 'i like the way you kiss me'. And the creation, I'm in the studio, like, almost every day. And around three or four weeks ago. I just had to sit down and look at everything I had. And there was like this running theme where it was talking about this character that I invented called 'Yustyna'. And I feel like at the start, I just wanted to signpost that song, because obviously, it was a big moment for me. And it's kind of just turned into this weird thing. And I think it's up to interpretation.” - source : BBC Radio 1
