BERWYN Premieres New Song “WHO AM I” on BBC Radio 1
London-based rapper BERWYN will release his highly-anticipated debut album “WHO AM I” this Friday (July 12).
The album comprises a 12-track, produced by British record producer Fred again.., and BERWYN.
It's an exploration of himself and the many forces, memories and places that have shaped his life emerge beautifully crafted and cohesive reflections on faith, on the tugs of addiction and the embrace of love, on what it means to be demonised for your immigration status or skin colour.
BERWYN said of the album, “I'm usually the first person to critique my own work but I really feel like I can say this album is outstanding. I gave it everything I had and more. I decided to use what I have inside me and ignore everything around me. It wasn't easy but I'm so proud of what I managed to accomplish.”- From the album he premiered the title track on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The track was written by Alex Gibson, Berwyn Du Bois, and Fred Gibson. Produced by Fred again.. and BERWYN.
BERWYN told Jack Saunders about the song, “It's been a hell of a story but very grateful I can get it out there. I'm very very proud of it. It feels like something that should be hung on a wall in a beautiful building. And I'm really proud of the hard work and where it's ended up.” -
He said of working with producer Fred again.., “The best musical producer to ever walk the Earth. If evolution is a thing, which we're pretty sure of at this point. It is actually working right now through his fingertips.
