K O D A E Releases New Song “Daydreamer” featuring TAYLR
Canadian alt-R&B band K O D A E, consisting of Annie da Silva (vocals), Owen Mcpherson (bass), Seyoung Lee (keyboard), Curtis Sauer (drums), Eric Osborne (guitar), teamed up with Calgary-based singer-songwriter TAYLR to release a new song “Daydreamer” on July 5, 2024.
The song will appear on their upcoming album.
The track was written by Curtis Sauer, Eric, Osborne, Owen McPherson, Seyoung Lee, Taylor-Anne Charlotte Da Silva. Produced by Trey Mills.
TAYLR explained, “K O D A E has always been rooted in mysticism and the romantic ponderings of the universe. A lot of our songs come from a place of wanting to understand our world and ourselves a little bit deeper. We feel connected to nature and the cycles that dance within it and you can find a lot of themes about growth, embracing simplicity, accepting change and settling into our roles in this big vast, magical world!”- They continued, “I love love love how the song opens on this pulsating vocal sample – when Eric and I were playing around with ideas in pre-production we were exploring the idea of turning my voice into its own instrument that we could manipulate and use to paint throughout the whole album. This was the seed that then blossoms through each song and this initial vocal sample comes back to support the build in the pre-chorus wrapping you up like a warm hug and allowing you to sink deeper into the song.“
