  • Joybomb Announces New EP “Modern Scripture”, Shares New Song “Nanoplastique”

  • Memphis-based rock band Joybomb has announced their new EP “Modern Scripture” will be released on August 23, 2024.

The EP is their first bosy of work in two years since the 2022 debut album “American Cult Candy”.
On the EP, the band worked with producer Matt Qualls.
From the EP, the abnd unveiled a new song “Nanoplastique” on June 27, 2024.
The track was written by Clanton Blaylock, Lyric Brock, Preston Beatty, and William Conner Booth.

“Nanoplastique” is about environmental degradation and how we rationalize our competing roles as consumers and members of a broader ecosystem. Moreover, it's a blistering dystopian creature of a song, equal parts King Gizzard, the Hives, and Queens of the Stone Age. Though the lyrics are a tongue-in-cheek embrace of a world consumed by microplastics, sonically it's a fuel-injected rocker that invokes the more dangerous of spirits. From the first beat of the intro, “Nano” pulls no punches, save for a bridge that dives into a colorful sonic abyss and finds vocalist Grant Beatty reading a verse from the Old Testament.
