Keith Urban Announces New Album “High”, Shares New Song “WILDSIDE”
Australian singer-songwriter Keith Urban has announced his 12th studio album “High” will be released on September 20, 2024.
The album is his first body of work in four years since the 2020 album “The Speed of Now Part 1” and comprises a 12-track, featuring a guest collaborator from American country music singer-songwriter Lainey Wilson.
The album explores themes of human connection, what it is to be alive, cutting loose, hope, nostalgia, shredding solos, straight-up fun, and some personal life revelations.
“I’ve always been drawn toward the subject of living in the moment, because it’s all there is, and it’s hard to do. And these days with so much ‘content’ flying at us, it can feel like drinking from a fire hose,” Keith Urban said of the album. “What makes you ‘high’ can mean whatever you want it to mean. It might be physical, spiritual, herbal, meditative, chemical or musical, but it’s definitely a place of utopia. For me it’s my family, my friends, and this rollercoaster musical journey I’m on. Playing guitar, writing songs and the place where I always feel high - playing live. Every night I get a chance to bring an energy and a release to people.”- He shared on social media, “This album is the result of a prior record I started in 2022. It’s 40 minutes top to bottom, and is completely expressive, true, honest and is so much more of what I actually wanted to say when making that scrapped record. I hope these songs bring you joy, levity, some new understanding, energy, and escape!”

From the album, he unveiled a new song “WILDSIDE” on June 28, 2024.
The song follows up the collaborative single “GO HOME W U” with Lainey Wilson, which was released last month.
The track is inspired by Joan Cusack’s character in School of Rock.
Keith Urban said, “She’s the principal of a school by day, all prim and proper. And then, a few tequilas at night and all bets are off.”
