gavn! Releases New Song “Jealous Guy”
American indie-folk singer-songwriter Gavin Maher, aka gavn! released a new song “Jealous Guy” on June 21, 2024.
The song follows up “Open Arms (Hallelujah)”, which was released back in April.
The track explores the challenges of tumultuous relationships and the emotional journey toward tenderness and self-acceptance.
It navigates themes of jealousy and insecurity, ultimately transforming these feelings into an overcoming sense of self-reflection and growth.
gavn! wrote the song with Nashville-based producer Evan Cline.
“I wrote this song because I feel like I’m always finding new ways to express new things I find wrong with myself, which, in turn, is sort of therapeutic in my healing process,” gavn! said of the song. “I wanted to juxtapose that concept with how, potentially, a person acts in those destructive ways because it was part of their own healing process, and how ‘the other person’ may never have been right for you in the first place.”- He shared on social media, “This is definitely a song that didn’t come easy writing, but I’m so glad it’s out now. A huge thank you to my brother Evan Cline for helping me tell this story. Hope y’all enjoy this one.”
