Billie Zizi Releases New Song “Levitate”
Canadian singer-songwriter Billie Zizi released a new song “Levitate” on June 19, 2024.
The song is the second single and title track from her upcoming sophomore album “Levitate”, which is set to be released on October 25, 2024.
The track was written and produced by Billie Zizi, with production by Austin Parachoniak.
The accompanying music video directed by Dale Bailey.
Billie Zizi said of the song, “I've always been fascinated with the edges of reality and this tune is about the intersection of the mundane and the profound and how those universes embrace each other. To levitate is to act in defiance of gravity, which is a metaphor for an act that defies social norms. “I let it take me, I let it take me, I levitate and I feel free,” is like when you give in to transcendence or a dream, or something that makes you feel alive.”- The new album is her first LP in eight years since the 2016 debut album “Moon of Honey”, and comprises a 10-track, produced by Billie Zizi and Austin Parachoniak.
Billie Zizi said of the album, “From the gas station love affairs of pitbull-walking, rhinestone adorned Edmontonians to the spiritual levity of transcendence, this album is a glimpse into my strange mind and the life I've lived. Loss, radiant love, transience, delirium and indefatigable hope are some of the themes. I dreamed this record into being over many years, its a love letter to Edmonton, to delighting in the simple things like hot dogs and friendship and the prairie sky and the absurdity of it all. To the all the Dirt city angels the big dreamers and the lovers and the dancers this is for you, I hope you like it
