deary Returns with New Song “The Moth”
London-based dream-pop duo deary, consisting of Ben Easton and Rebecca 'Dottie' Cockram, returned with a new song “The Moth” on June 19, 2024.
The song is the first music since the 2023 self-titled debut EP and the first single off of their upcoming EP, which is expected to be released later this year via Sonic Cathedral.
The track was written by Benjamin Easton and Rebecca Cockram. Produced by deary and Iggy B.
The accompanying music vide was directed by Limb.
The duo recorded at at 4AD studios in London and former Cocteau Twins bassist Simon Raymonde’s Bella Union Studios in Brighton.
Ben Easton said of the song, “We focused a lot on the rhythm and syncopation. It’s very dense and immediate, with little room to breathe which adds to the claustrophobia in the subject matter.”
Rebecca 'Dottie' Cockram added, “I wanted to write about being drawn to things which are not good for us. However, that fleeting feeling of immortality is too tempting to fly away from.”- source : Apple Music
