Lake Street Dive Releases New Song “Dance With a Stranger”
Boston-based soul-rock band Lake Street Dive, consisting of Rachael Price (vocals), Bridget Kearney (bass), Mike Calabrese (drums), Akie Bermiss (keyboards) and James Cornelison (guitar), will release their eighth studio album “Good Together” via Fantasy Records this Friday (June 21).
The album is their first LP in three years since the 2021 album “Obviously”.
From the album, the band released fourth single called “Dance With a Stranger” on June 17, 2024.
The track was written by Akie Bermiss, Bridget Kearney, Michael Calabrese, Mike Elizondo, and Rachael Price. Produced by Mike Elizondo.
The band said of the song, “A song was inspired by a square dance, where folks from different communities come together and get a chance to move together. It's always a good antidote for working out the kinks, personally and interpersonally. Get EVERYBODY in a room together and let them DANCE.”
The accompanying music video was directed by Bianca Giaever.

The band recorded the album at Phantom Studios, Gallatin, TN.
The album marks the first time all five Lake Street Dive members have written together from the outset of a song's creation.
The band lead singer Rachael Price said of the album, “At first, it was terrifying to write together in the same room. But as soon as we got started it felt so fun. We very quickly realized, 'Oh, we need to do this again and again.'”
The band added, “We've been calling this record a 'joyful rebellion.' There's so much to be sad or angry or scared about in the world right now, but joy keeps you going. It sustains you. This album is our way of saying, take your joy seriously and do it TOGETHER!” -
