Alison Moyet Announces New Album “Key”, Shares Two New Songs “Such Small Ale” & “All Cried Out (Key Version)”
British singer-songwriter Alison Moyet has announced her tenth studio album “Key” will be released on October 4, 2024.
Alison Moyet is best known as a member of British synth-pop duo Yazoo (Yaz in North America), and released her debut solo album “Alf” in 1984.
The album celebrates her 40th anniversary as a solo artist and comprises a 18-track, including 16 reworked singles and two new songs.
The songs were all reimagined alongside her producer, arranger and musical director Sean McGhee.
Alison Moyet said in a statement, “I wanted to take the opportunity to look at the trajectory of the past four decades and explore songs that, in their original form, were never fully realised or have had their relevance to me altered by time.”
She continued, “‘Key’ distils 40 years of music making, presenting a cohesive overview of a long and dazzling journey I hope this collection will be the key to those unopened doors. Let yourself in.”- From the album, she released two new sons “Such Small Ale” and “All Cried Out (Key Version)” on June 14, 2024.
"Such Small Ale" is one of two new songs recorded for this new album.
Alison Moyet wrote the song with McGhee and Suede guitarist Richard Oakes and producer Sean Mcghee.
“All Cried Out (Key Version)” is a new version of “All Cried Out”, which was released as the second single from the debut solo album “Alf” in 1984.
It was written by Alison Moyet, Steve Jolley, and Tony Swain. New version was produced by Sean Mcghee.
Alison Moyet will perform both songs on BBC Radio 2's Piano Room alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra on June 20, 2024.
Also, she graduated from Brighton University with a first-class degree in Fine Art Printmaking BA (Hons) before the announcement of the album. - source : Apple Music
