Kygo Teams Up With Plested for New Song “Me Before You”
Norwegian DJ Kygo will release his upcoming self-titled album “KYGO” on June 21, 2024.
From the Album, he released the fourth single called “Me Before You” on June 14, 2024.
This time, he teamed up with British singer-songwriter Phil Plested, aka Plested.
At the studio in Los Angeles, Kygo found a demo video of the song that Phil Plested posted on Instagram.
He then contacted Phil Plested to ask about creating a new song together.
The track was written by Kyrre Gørvell-Dahl, lMichael Joseph Wise, and Philip Plested. Produced by Kygo.
Kygo explained about making the song on social media, “This is one of my favorite songs I've done in a really long time. I was at the studio in LA and I was scrolling on Instagram and I saw this video Plested posted. And I just love that melody that he was singing. So I ended up just taking the audio from Instagram and I sped it up quite a bit. And then I added some background ambience. I added some synth (sound), all together (sound), It sounded like this.”- Phil Plested said, “Mike Wise & I literally wrote this song 6 weeks ago, I loved it so much that I posted the chorus here on insta. Kygo then messaged me asking to work on it and of course I said YES. Thank you to Kygo & Mike for trusting my lyrics and writing such a heart felt song with me. Thank you to all our teams for getting it over the line in record speed. And thank you to my partner for inspiring the concept and just generally being amazing.”

The album comprises a 18-track, featuring collaborations with Ava Max, Hayla, Plested, Sandro Cavazza, Sasha Alex Sloan, Zak Abel, Nile Rodgers, Chance Peña, Emmit Fenn, Fred Well, Jonas Brothers, Julia Michaels, M83, Matt Hansen and Sigrid.
