The Heavy Heavy Announces Debut Album “One of a Kind”, Shares New Song “Happiness”
London-based rock band The Heavy Heavy, consisting of Will Turner (vocals/guitar), Georgie Fuller (vocals/keyboard), Frank Fogden (guitar), Tom Holder (bass) and Joe Bordenaro (drums), has announced their debut album “One of a Kind” will be released on September 6, 2024 via ATO Records.
The album is follow-up to the 2022 debut EP “Life and Life Only”, and comprises a 12-track, produced by Will Turner.
A press release described as “But in a departure from the EP, One of a Kind leans away from Laurel Canyon-esque folk-rock and fully embraces The Heavy Heavy's British roots, finding a particularly crucial inspiration in the gritty and groove-heavy hedonism of The Rolling Stones' Goats Head Soup.”
Georgie Fuller said of the album, “The driving force behind all our songwriting is to feel good, and to make other people feel good too.”- They shared on social media, “We are so excited to announce our debut album: One of a Kind. This has been in the making for years and it feels incredible to release it into the world on September 6th, 2024 via ATO Records. In the wise words of someone close to us, this is just the beginning....we're glad to have you on the journey with you.”
From the album, the band released the first single called “Happiness” on June 11, 2024.
The track was written by Georgie Fuller and William Turner. Produced by Will Turner.
The accompanying music video was directed by Alec Basse.
The band recorded the song at the latter's studio in Brighton. -
The press release described the song as “a sun-drenched, sing-along-ready number that serves as an auspicious bridge to the band's new era. The summery track channels a bold determination to break free from loneliness and stagnation, ultimately providing an automatic mood lift thanks to The Heavy Heavy's resplendent melodies and signature multi-part harmonies.”
