Jensen McRae Releases New Song “Massachusetts”
Back in November 2023, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Jensen McRae posted the first verse and chorus of an unnamed song to TikTok.
The song went to viral and accrued over 5.5 million views on TikTok. Also, Canadian artists Drake posted “like” the song and Justin Bieber posted the song to his Instagram.
Jensen McRae told Elite Daily about a moment she found Justin Bieber posted her song to his account, “I was just so confused. I thought [my friend] Photoshopped it or something. I was sitting in a chair, I stood up and then I fell into a squat on the ground and my jaw was agape. The whole day just passed in such a surreal state.”
Finally, she officially released the song under name “Massachusetts” on June 11, 2024.
Also, it is the first release under her new label Dead Oceans.
The track was written by Jensen Paige McRae, Mary Weitz. Produced by Brad Cook.
She said of the song, “I'm not a perfectionist, but I don't want to put something out there that doesn't feel true to me, or true to what it is.”- The song will appear on her upcoming sophomore album, which is expected to be released in 2025.
She said of the album, “I've lived a lot more, and have a lot more experience to share. The record will touch on those moments that are harder, less healed. But before we pull back the curtain, it feels right to touch on this hopeful moment.” - source : Apple Music
