  • Bellah Mae Releases New EP “Never Waste A Heartbreak”

  • British singer-songwriter Bellah Mae released her sophomore EP “Never Waste A Heartbreak” on June 7, 2024.

Initially, the EP was supposed to be released on May 3, 2024 and she announced that the EP would be pushed back to June 7th back in April.
The EP comprises a 6-track, produced by Alex Stacey, Brett Truitt and Oliver Frid.
She focuses on songwriting based on storytelling
The EP began when country music icon Dolly Parton’s manager invited her over after hearing one of her early songs online. It is based on her storytelling and songwriting during her time in Nashville.

Bellah Mae said of the EP, “The title of this new EP means a lot to me as it enforces that no matter what happens there’s always a positive. If you’re in a heartbreak, you have so much opportunity to become such an empowered version of yourself, learning that you can move past anything and grow even stronger from it.”
  • She continued, “On this EP, I really had a lot more freedom to lean into my country roots. A lot of the tracks are very stripped back, so I had the flexibility to really get into the details on the lyrics.”

She added, “As a songwriter, if my music connects with people and helps them, then I've 100% done my job.”

  • Bellah Mae explained about some tracks for the EP.

    “Hell & Never Back”
“The day I wrote this song, I almost didn’t go to the studio and literally cried in the Uber on the way there. I was in Nashville and going through a rough heartbreak. I had zero expectations for the song I wrote that day, but it turned out to be this one because it was so personal and true to how I was feeling.”

    “Stay Friends”
“I just wanted to write it exactly as it was, as if I were having a conversation.”

    “Compatible”
“Compatible” encapsulates the feeling of not feeling chosen or wanted by the person you’re with and worry they’re too comfortable. And although being comfortable can be good, you don’t want it at the sacrifice of feeling so loved and appreciated. As a songwriter and storyteller, I often take from multiple inspiration around me for writing a song, yet I still didn’t quite expect this one to resonate with so many people.”

    “2053”
“Everybody will always tell you ‘it’ll be okay’ and ‘there’s plenty of fish in the sea’ but sometimes you wonder if they’ll always be a part of you that reflects on a particular person that’s no longer in your life anymore. As for writing the lyrics, I really wanted to tell a story of how strange it is for that person to not be aware of big changes or things happening within your life now.”
