Ariana Grande Drops New Music Video for “the boy is mine”
American singer-songwriter Ariana Grande dropped a new music video for “the boy is mine” on June 7, 2024.
The song is featured on her seventh studio album “Eternal Sunshine”, which was released back in March.
Before the release of the video, she performed the song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The video was directed by Christian Breslauer, starring Ariana Grande and American actor Penn Badgley.
Also, American singer-songwriter Brandy Norwood and American rapper Monica Arnold appeared on the clip as cameos.
Ariana Grande told Jimmy Fallon about working with Penn Badgley, “The video stars Penn Badgley, who I've been a fan of my entire life. It was so amazing to work with him. Super honored to work with him.”
Penn Badgley shared on social media, “The boy may be yours but the pleasure was all mine Ariana Grande thank you for inviting me into your orbit for a moment & Christian Breslauer for building a little world to play in for a day. Hey ma I’m in a music video! And in the presence of Brandy Norwood and Monica Arnold ?? Honored to be alongside these icons.”- The song was written by Ariana Grande, Max Martin, DaviDior, and Shintaro Yasuda.

Ariana Grande told Amazon Music about the song, “That's gonna be everyone's favorite, unfortunately. I think it's naughty, it's the version of 'Fantasize' that they wanted to have. It's like a sexier, naughtier one, and I think it's more provocative than the rest, but it's not about what you think it was about and it's also a song that I've always wanted to interpolate, is that what the kids are calling it now? I have like many different versions of it from many years ago but this is not that, honestly. Just the title [is an interpolation]. I'm such a 90s baby, I have so many 90s interpolation ideas, samples, in my brain but this one finally found a home. I wanted it to come after 'true story' on the tracklist because that song plainly says, 'I'll play the bad girl if you need me to.'” - Ariana Grande will appearer on the upcoming musical fantasy film “Wicked”, which is set to be released on November 27, 2024.
The film was directed by Jon M. Chu, starring Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, with Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang, Bronwyn James, Keala Settle, and Peter Dinklage.
The film is based on the 1995 novel of the same name by Gregory Maguire and characters from L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz”.
