  • Sabrina Carpenter Announces New Album “Short n' Sweet”, Shares New Song “Please Please Please”

  • American singer-songwriter and actress Sabrina Carpenter has announced her sixth studio album “Short n' Sweet” will be released on August 23, 2024 via Island Records.

The album is her first body of work in two years since the 2022 album “Emails I Can't Send” and comprises a 12-track, produced by Julian Bunetta and Jack Antonoff.

Sabrina Carpenter shared on social media, “I am so excited to announce my brand new album 'Short n' Sweet' coming in August. This project is quite special to me and I hope it'll be something special to you too.”

From the album, she released a new song “Please Please Please” on June 6, 2024.
The song is the second single off of the album, following the release of “Espresso” back in April.
This time, she worked with frequent collaborator Amy Allen and American singer-songwriter Jack Antonoff on the track.
The song is accompanied by the Bardia Zeinali-directed music video.
  • The video co-stars Irish actor Barry Keoghan, who is Sabrina Carpenter's real-life boyfriend.
The clip is a sequel to the previous video for “Espresso”, in which she was arrested at the end, and begins with her getting out of jail.

Sabrina Carpenter told Vogue about the video, “I ended the last video getting arrested, so naturally I thought it would be satisfying to start the 'Please, please, please' video in jail. I liked the idea of falling in love with a convict and being shocked and embarrassed every time he commits crimes. I was sooo lucky to get Barry Keoghan in the video cause he is just magic on screen.”

  • Director Bardia Zeinali said of the video in an interview with Vogue, “I think more than film references I was looking at historically and famously chaotic couples. Pamela [Anderson] and Tommy Lee, Sid and Nancy, Madonna and Dennis Rodman, and then in film Natural Born Killers and a bit of Thelma & Louise.”
He continued, “For context, too, this was also a one day shoot. It was very challenging and we had a lot to accomplish. It was a blessing to have Barry as the co-star because you get this level of genuine investment that happens because he really cares.”
