Chasing Kites Releases New Song “The Woods”
Bristol-based indie-rock band Chasing Kites, consisting of Matt Donnelly (vocals/guitar), James Hunt (drums), Liam Hope (guitar) and Nathan Price (bass), released a new song “The Woods” on June 7, 2024.
The song is the second single of 2024, following the release of “Collide” back in March.
The band recorded the song with producer Sam Winfield at Studio 91 in Newbury, Berkshire as with the previous song “Collide”.
The track was written by Liam Hope and Matthew Donnelly.
The band frontman Matt Donnelly said of the song, “The track tells the story of how I went missing when I was 18. Lyrically, the focus is on the thoughts that were going through my head at the point where I believed I wasn't going to make it through the ordeal. It is because of this story that the track will always feel very raw.”- Chasing Kites was originally founded by frontman Matt Donnelly and guitarist Liam Hope in 2021. After a long search for a rhythm section, drummer James Hunt and bassist Nathan Price were drafted in to complete the band's electric sound.
The band intertwine dynamic hooks, 80s synth textures and vivid narratives, capturing reflections on the stories of Donnelly's youth. -
