  • Disclosure Premieres New Song “She's Gone, Dance On” on BBC Radio 1

  • British electronic music duo Disclosure, consisting of Guy Lawrence and Howard Lawrence, premiered a new song “She's Gone, Dance On” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.

The song is their first music since the 2023 album “Alchemy”.
Also, it is the first release under their new label Capitol Records.
The track sampled the late Italian composer Ennio Morricone's “Dance On”, which was featured on the 1978 film “Così Come Sei”.
The duo started working on the track in 2017.
They first performed the song in Los Angeles in October 2023. After that, they subsequently distributed it to fellow DJs, like salute, Todd Edwards, Joy Anonymous, and Dom Dolla.
Finally, after the sample was cleared, they officially released the song.

Disclosure shared on social media, “Thank you all for your patience with this one. We actually started working on this back in 2017, so if you think it's been a while for you, imagine our pain!! since we debuted it late last year in clubs the response from DJs and you lot has been insaneeee. Truly can't thank you all enough for the love.”
  • The duo told Jack Saunders about the song, “I guess it would be the fact that although it appears to have taken a long time to come out. And since people may have first heard it online is way longer for us because I started this beat in 2017, put it in the vault didn't touch it. And then, got it back out last year, started messing around with it again, sped it up, gave it a bit of a new lease of life. And before we knew it, we sent it out to a few mates and a few DJs and it just took on a whole new life and real momentum. It's only until today we could finally bring it to everybody. So very happy to finally have it out. It's been a long time coming.”

  • They continued, “It's by this guy called Ennio Morricone, Italian film music composer. He's no longer with us, sadly. So we had to talk to him today and these things need to be handled with care and sensitively and I think it's important especially in dance music, and hip hop as well where a lot of sampling goes on that you make sure you give credit to the people who inspired the track or where where credit is due. And so we did that and it's taken us since October to get to where we're at now. When everybody's happy everyone's dying to ask that we can finally give it to people because up until now, it's just been in our DJ friends, USB, they've had it they've been playing it in clubs. And so video after video is going up but we're like we can't quite release haven't been doing this process. So painful the way it see, it builds this much momentum good. I mean, I can't remember the last time we had a song that had this much momentum and height before it come out. So it was frustrating, but also it kind of gave the song the path and the life that it has. Now the hype was just getting more and more and more so yeah, I just really hope everybody enjoys it as much as we have.”
