Rosalie James Releases New Song “ISLAND” featuring Storefront Church
Cornwall-based singer-songwriter Rosalie James released a new song “ISLAND” on May 22, 2024.
This time, she teamed up with Los Angeles-based artist Lukas Frank's project Storefront Church on the track.
The song is the third single off of her upcoming album “Full of Chemicals”, which is expected to be released in June 2024.
The track speaks of the loss and regret implicit in knowing that although you did your best, it often wasn't good enough, through the experience of parenting.
The track was written by Rosalie Jenifer James and produced by Daniel Knowles.
Rosalie James said of the song, “ISLAND stands for 'I Saw Love As Not Dying'. There were many moments where I didn't want to carry on but every time, the thought of what it would do to my children prevented me from taking my own life. The ultimate expression of my love for them was staying alive, even though it was incredibly painful and I couldn't always be there for them in the way I would have liked.”- The new album was produced and recorded with producer Daniel Knowles at Balboa Recording Studio in Los Angeles.
The album is a lush mix of dreampop, indie rock, folk and Americana, and is an autobiographical diary of the artist's own struggles with neurodiversity, toxic relationships, addiction and mental health.
Rosalie James said, “There is so much I want to say, and the depths of terminal sadness and fleeting joy can only be properly expressed through music – any other form of communication is corrupted by confusion and doubt.
