Tom Hanley Releases New Song “Take It Away”
Toronto-based indie-rock singer-songwriter Tom Hanley released a new song “Take It Away” on May 17, 2024.
The song is the third single off of his upcoming debut album “Overnight”, which is expected to be released in 2024.
Tom Hanley wrote the song with producer Nixon Boyd over Zoom together.
The track is about the rising cost of living in Toronto and in Canada in general, and how tough it has been for our generation to get a foothold.
Tom Hanley said of the song, “This song, ‘Take It Away’ makes me want to go out and do something to change how our country is being run,” says Tom Hanley. “To change the narrative we are telling the next generation. What they should work towards and the path they should take because it’s not leading to the same results that it did even ten years ago.”- He shared on social media, “This song is about a crisis that a lot of us are facing: the soaring costs of housing, gas, groceries, childcare, the list goes on. It’s maddening to see the best parts of our city priced out, and it’s difficult to find hope for a future that will be better for the generations to come. For anyone out there who is overworked, overwhelmed and fed up…this ones for you.”
