  • Jake Bugg Announces New Album “A Modern Day Distraction”, Shares New Song “Zombieland”

  • British singer-songwriter Jake Bugg has announced his sixth studio album “A Modern Day Distraction” will be released on September 20 via RCA Records.

The album is his first full-length LP in three years since the 2021 album “Saturday Night, Sunday Morning”, and comprises a 12-track.

Jake Bugg said of the album in a press release, “People might say ‘What do you know?’ or ‘Just stick to music’. I’ve got a bit of money, but we all know the people this affects. I was just writing it because it was the way I felt. It pisses me off – especially in a country like ours where we have the means and funds to take care of the people suffering the most, but we choose not to.”
He added, “You just have to put your songs out into the universe and hope for the best,”
  • From the album, he unveiled the first single called “Zombieland” on May 17, 2024.
This track is an ode to the many broken by the inescapable daily grind.
The track was written by Jake Bugg, Mark Taylor, Patrick Mascall, and Paul Barry. Produced by Patrick Mascall and Mark Taylor.
The accompanying music video was directed by Rachael Halaburda.

Jake Bugg said of the song, “It’s fucking brutal. [People live in] a constant cycle of working to live. They’re not paid what they’re worth. People have the same routine every day, they’re at work more than they see their kids, then the government puts the retirement age up. It’s not right.”

  • Jake Bugg embarks on UK and Europe tour in November 2024. The tour kicks off at Trabendo in Paris, FR on November 9, and will conclude at O2 Victoria Warehouse, Manchester on November 26, 2024.
