The Script Announces New Album “Satellites”, Shares New Song “Both Ways”
Irish rock band The Script, consisting of Danny O'Donoghue (lead vocals), Glen Power (drums), Benjamin Sargeant (bass) and Ben Weaver (guitar), is back.
The band has announced their seventh studio album “Satellites” will be released on August 16, 2024.
The album is their first LP in five years sine the 2019 album “Sunsets & Full Moons” and comprises a 12-track.
Also, it is first release since the death of lead guitarist Mark Sheehan, who died at aged 46 in hospital in April 2023.
The band frontman Danny O'Donoghue said, “The album cover is silhouettes of me, Glen and Ben Sargeant, our bassist, who's been with us from the beginning. Then we have a hooded silhouette, because the air of Mark is still there. He always will be, but it's also giving a tip of the hat to the future. It'll never be the same Script. We're just trying to get on and do what it is that we all feel is the next right thing to do and that's to keep making more great music.”- From the album, the band released a new song “Both Ways” on May 17, 2024.
The song features dance-floor vibes with hip-hop and funk rhythms, unlike their previous songs.
The track was written by Danny O'Donoghue, Glen Power, Steve Robson, and Wayne Hector. Produced by Steve Robson.
The accompanying music video was directed by Jordan Rossi.
The band drummer Glen Power said of the song, “Both Ways is high energy, and maybe not what people might expect from us. But we're The Script, and now we have something to prove: that there is life and light after the darkness. It's why we're coming fast and strong with that one.” -
The band embarks on Satellites World Tour in support of the album.
Scottish singer-songwriter Tom Walker will support the tour.
The tour kicks off at SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland on November 13, and will conclude at Fabrique in Milan, Italy on December 11, 2024.
