  • Nate Smith & Avril Lavigne Team Up for New Version of “Bulletproof”

  • American country music singer-songwriter Nate Smith teamed up with Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne to release a new version of “Bulletproof” on May 16, 2024.

This marks the first collaboration between Nate Smith and Avril Lavigne.
The original version of the song was released from his 2024 EP “Through the Smoke” back in February.
It was written by Ashley Gorley, Ben Johnson, and Hunter Phelps. Produced by Lindsay Rimes

Nate Smith said of the song, “Ashley Gorley, who is one of the co-writers of 'World On Fire' with me, wrote 'Bulletproof' and had it sent to me. I immediately loved it. I thought the beginning had a Tom Petty vibe to it then chorus has this massive lift. It sounded like an anthem, and I knew I wanted to cut it.”
  • He added, “I've dealt with some heartache throughout my life, and I've also been the deliverer of heartache to some. It's funny because we sometimes think that alcohol is gonna make you forget that person, but it often times brings it right back up. There are so many things we can try to do to get over someone we love, but really time is the only thing that can help.”

Nate Smith and Avril Lavigne will perform the song at The 59th Academy of Country Music Awards on May 16, 2024.
Nate Smith won New Male Artist of the Year at the 2024 ACM Awards.
