Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Raven Numan Releases New Song “Going Down”
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Raven Numan, who also is known as the daughter of British musician Gary Numan, released the third single called “Going Down” on May 3, 2024.
The track was written by Raven Webb and produced by Ade Fenton, who also produced her previous singles “Here for Me” and “My Reflection”.
The accompanying music video was directed by Kassandra Powell.
Raven Numan said of the song, “I wrote 'Going Down' during an extremely dark period of my life. I was incredibly suicidal and it was very difficult for me to control my emotions and I ended up hurting a lot of the people close to me. I felt this immense amount of guilt and writing was the only way I could express my frustrations and sadness since it was hard for me to actually talk about it. So that's what I did, I sat down and wrote exactly what I was feeling. It was a very intense and upsetting process but I felt this relief after I wrote this song, like weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. I pray that no one relates to this song but if you do, just know that you're not alone and these feelings are temporary, life's an incredible gift.”- She shared on social media, “I'm so excited to share my third single Going Down will be released next Friday. This song is incredibly important to me, I wrote it during a very dark period of my life and writing it helped lift a lot of weight off of my shoulders. It made me rethink my decisions I was intending to make that would've affected a lot of the people around me. I felt this relief after I finished recording the last line; I closed my laptop, drank some tea, listened to some Charlie xcx and took a nap (a good nap at that).”
