Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Hope Vista Releases New Song “Holy Water”
New York-based singer-songwriter Hope Vista released the third single of 2024 called “Holy Water” on April 26, 2024, following “Christian the Composer” and “Worst for You”.
Hope Vista wrote and produced the song. This marks her first ever self-production song.
The song portrays the late-night feelings of a young woman with overbearing thoughts of yearning, digging into elements of trap-pop.
Hope Vista said of the song, “This is actually the first song I ever demo’ed out by myself. I had never dove into production before, but last year I decided to take a stab at trying to pre-produce my own songs. It was going to make the recording process a lot easier, because I’ve always had a tough time trying to explain in words what I hear in my head. I’ve played around with this song a lot, especially with the lyricism and smaller production elements, to make the internal sounds match up outwardly. 'Holy Water' really kicked off a chain of songs that continue to bring my inner workings to life.”- She shared on social media, “'Holy Water' is the first song i ever tried to produce. It had become very difficult to try and explain out loud what I was hearing in my head when i'd write. What production I heard. what instruments I heard. The structure, the organization. Expressing it outwardly wasn't matching up 100%. because of these frustrations, I decided to try my hand at production, just to see what would come of it.”
She continued, “'Holy Water' was born on day one. I toyed with it for a year, wanting to make sure that it fully encapsulated a specific vision I heard. It was to be eerie, but sexy. Haunting, but mature. Combining these elements into one cohesive piece that made a statement about where my songwriting was at this song led to the next, which led to the next, and many more following.”
She added, “Now, production is main writing tool. I'm quite proud of this one, and I hope you enjoy digesting it as much as I enjoyed writing it.” -
