Charli XCX Announces New Album “BRAT” Release Date, Shares Two New Songs “Club Classics” & “B2B”
British singer-songwriter Charli XCX has announced her sixth studio album “BRAT” will be released on June 7, 2024.
The album comprises a 15-track, produced by A. G. Cook, EASYFUN, George Daniel, Gesaffelstein and Omer Fedi.
It is her first album in two years since the 2022 album “Crash” and is a club record.
Charli XCX shared on social media the album, “I was born to make dance music. I came from the clubs. xcx6 is the album I've always wanted to make. I love you angels I love partying with you and I love all of you who wanted to be there but couldn't. xcx6 is a club record and I cant wait to party around the world with you all.”- On the album, she wrote songs inspired by conversation with her friends.
Charli XCX told Billboard about the album, “This album is very direct. I'm over the idea of metaphor and flowery lyricism and not saying exactly what I think, the way I would say it to a friend in a text message. This record is all the things I would talk about with my friends, said exactly how I would say them. It's in ways very aggressive and confrontational, but also very conversational and personal. And not in that boring way where artists are like, 'This is my most personal record.' To me, it feels like listening to a conversation with a friend.” -
From the album, Charli XCX released two new songs “Club Classics” and “B2B” on April 3, 2024.
“Club Classics” was written by Charlotte Aitchison and George Daniel. Produced by A. G. Cook and George Daniel.
The song paid tribute to her friend and the late songwriter SOPHIE.
“B2B” was written by Charlotte Aitchison and Mike Lévy. Produced by A. G. Cook, Gesaffelstein, and Omer Fedi.
She said of two songs, “Club classics started in George's kitchen. I was talking about missing hearing Sophie's music as much as I used to at parties and ended up turning this thought into a song about only really wanting to hear my own music and my friends' music at clubs (true). B2b started with a last minute dinner at the restaurant overlooking the louvre and ended in a studio in LA with a load of equipment covered in whipped cream (also true).” - source : Apple Music
