Pillow Queens Releases New Song “Like a Lesson”
Irish indie rock band Pillow Queens, consisting of Sarah Corcoran (vocals/rhythm guitar/bass), Rachel Lyons (drums), Cathy McGuinness (lead guitar) and Pamela Connolly (vocals/rhythm guitar/bass), will release their third studio album “Name Your Sorrow” on April 19, 2024.
The album is their first LP in two years since the 2022 album “Leave the Light On” and comprises a 12-track.
From the album, the band has released the third single called “Like a Lesson”.
The track was written and produced by Pillow Queens.
The band said of the song, “The notion of finding safety and comfort in the presence of love of limerence is emphasized, contrasting with the paralyzing fear of making mistakes or ruining your life or someone else’s. It delves into the feeling of being a lesson for someone, a side character in someone else’s story.”- They continued, “Sonically, we were influenced by a range of artists from Blur and REM to Seminsonic, New Radicals, and Squeeze. It began as a song we felt had a strong country music influence and morphed into something that referenced a wide range of our musical tastes. It’s the 90s soft rock song on the album.”
