Poppy Ajudha said of the song in a statement, “This song is a celebration of putting my dreams and aspirations first and being able to revel in the joy of being my authentic self. I looked inward, shed skin, grew up, decided to make better decisions for myself and my future, and most importantly finally felt ready to step into the driving seat of my life.”- Also, Poppy Ajudha told Clara Amfo about the song, “My new single 'My Future' is a song about celebrating who you are being fearless stepping into your power it's something that we should all do.”
Poppy Ajudha shared about her music on social media, “I love soul, pop and r&b. My music is basically a mix pf everything I grew up listening to I was always really inspired by strong female artists. So it's no surprise my music really reflects that too. I'm a sensitive girl. I definitely wear my heart on my sleeve. I think that's why I love writing songs so much. I've never had a problem saying how I feel however dramatic it might come across. So make me feel something and I might just write you into a song.” - source : BBC Radio 1
