  • Lizzy McAlpine Announces New Album “Older”, Shares Title Track

  • Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Lizzy McAlpine has announced that her third studio album “Older” will be released on April 5, 2024 via RCA Records.

The album is her first body of work in two years since the 2022 album “Five Seconds Flat” and comprises a 14-track.
Also it is the first release under her new label RCA Records.
Recorded and produced in Los Angeles by Lizzy McAlpine and Mason Stoops with additional production by Ryan Lerman of Scary Pockets, Jeremy Most and Tony Berg.

“To me, this album represents who I've become over the past three years,” Lizzy McAlpine said of the album. “Through the long and mostly tumultuous journey of making it, I have learned who I am as a person, who I want to be as an artist and what kind of art I want to make. This album is a culmination of that growth, showcasing the rawest and most honest version of me.”

She continued, “The music that I've released up to this point in my career has been heavily produced and perfected, to the point where I don't even recognize myself in it anymore. This album is the complete opposite. We recorded most of it live, tracking the entire band at the same time in one room, me included. The passion in that space translates into the recorded music so much more than anything I've done before, and it has created a record that, in my opinion, is the best I've ever made.”
  • From the album, she unveiled the title track as the lead single on February 13, 2024.
The track was written by Elizabeth Mcalpine, Mason Stoops, and Taylor Mackall. Produced by Lizzy McAlpine and Mason Stoops.

Lizzy McAlpine shared on social media, “This album took me three years to get right. I only got it right because me and mason and Taylor and Libro and Sam and Ted and Richter and Nuffer and Jesse all sat in a room for 2 weeks and figured out how to get it right. Then mason and Taylor and Jesse and I sat in that room for 2 more weeks and made sure that it was right. Those few weeks were hard and fun and also the turning point for this record. The song 'Older' specifically was the moment it all started to come together in my head. (more on that song later) for now, I hope you know that I did not compromise. I was very stressed out the whole time but i think we got somewhere really cool in the end. making and promoting art feels very strange right now, but I hope you can find some comfort in what we've made. I love you.”

  • She continued, “Now for the song... writing and recording “Older” was one of the most creatively fulfilling and moving experiences of my entire life. i brought half of this song to Mason Stoops & Taylor Mackall and within 20 minutes we had the full thing. we recorded three takes, just the three of us in a room, no headphones or click or anything.”
