Justin Timberlake Performs New Songs “Sanctified” featuring Tobe Nwigwe & “Selfish” on Saturday Night Live
American singer-songwriter Justin Timberlake appeared on Saturday Night Live to perform two new songs “Sanctified” and “Selfish” from his upcoming sixth studio album “Everything I Thought It Was”.
This marks the first appearance in nine years as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live since 2013.
To date, he's hosted the show five times, and has performed on the show six times.
This time, “Sanctified” premiered on TV, featuring American rapper Tobe Nwigwe.
“Selfish” was released as the first single from the new album on January 26, 2024.
The new album is his first LP in six years since the 2018 alum “Man of the Woods” and is set to be released on March 15, 2024.- Justin Timberlake told Apple Music about the song, “We were talking about the song itself and just breaking down the idea that you just don't hear that from men often, that they would express an emotion that makes them vulnerable. And then, growing up the way I grew up, you're taught not to do that. But I don't know, it just felt like a really honest song.”
He continued, “The lyrics just started to come out honestly. And when I listened to the whole album, I felt like it's probably, of all the songs on the album, production-wise, probably the most straightforward, and I don't want to say simple because it's complex within its simplicity to me.” - source : NBC
