Amy Shark Releases New Song “Beautiful Eyes”
Australian alt-pop singer-songwriter Amy Shark released the first single of 2024 called “Beautiful Eyes” on January 19, 2024.
The song is the follow-up to a cover of Kylie Minogue's “Can't Get You Out Of My Head”, which was released last November.
Amy Shark wrote the song during her her mammoth 42-date regional tour in Australia. She said, “I had a lot of time alone to think about the past and the future and my life and all the people in it.”
The track was written by Amy Billings and produced by Jon Hume. The accompanying music video was directed by Kid Mac.
Amy Shark said of the song on social media, “So I've decided that I don't know how to promote songs anymore. It's like, especially when you have a song that means a lot to you. And that's not to say that other songs that I've released recently don't, it's just this one just like kind of saved me.”- She continued, “I was on this really big Australian regional tour and it was just months and months of being away. And you know, touring regional Australia is very different to like touring like North America or Europe, you know, it's a big country. It's very barren. There's a lot of deserts there's a lot of, you know, questionable motels. I was away for a really long time. When you're traveling, it's like a lot of time to think and when you're in like motel rooms by yourself, it's a lot of time to think and overthink and if you may start spiraling. You know, I got myself in this really messy position where I was like, 'I don't know what I'm doing anymore.' I'm tired, I'm out of shape. I miss everybody just so you know, every time I went on stage on that regional tour, I had the time my life. Touring does things to you mentally, man, I can't explain it. For whatever reason, it was like show 27 It was just it was just before halfway.”

I felt so excited again, and it just reminded me how happy I get when I write a song that I'm proud of all I could think about was I can't wait to release 'Beautiful Eyes'.
