Terrian Premieres “Honestly, We Just Need Jesus” on K-LOVE First
American singer-songwriter Terrian premiered a new song “Honestly, We Just Need Jesus” on K-LOVE First on January 8. 2024.
The song is the third single off of her upcoming debut album “Give It Time”, which is set to be released on January 26, 2024.
The track was written by Terrian Woods, Riley Friesen, Matt Hammitt, ans Toby McKeehan.
Produced by Micah Kuiper and Toby McKeehan.
Terrian said of the song "This song is me taking a look in the mirror and recognizing I don't have the solution - but I know the person, though, who has the solution to the pain, the anxiety, the hurt that plagues our world, and his name is Jesus."
She continued, "And I just want to give that message to people. The reason we need Jesus is because we need a savior, and He is that. We need God, and He is that. We need someone who gives us peace that surpasses all understanding. We need someone who enables us to forgive and love our enemies. We need someone who gives us power over the sins that harm us and those around us. We need Jesus."- The accompanying music video was directed by Diego Brawn, who filmed in New York City last October.
Terrian said of the video, “I’ve sat with this song for two years, and sometimes songs can end up on the chopping block after so much time of working on it and sitting with it. Yet, this song never seemed to lose its ability to soberly engage with the culture and climate of our day. We scheduled to fly up to New York in October to film on a rooftop. Unbeknownst to us, while singing and filming, a few miles away there would be protests at the exact moment we were singing, ‘Honestly, We Just Need Jesus’ out over the city as helicopters were stationed in the air to cover the protests.” -
She continued, “There’s something about being a couple of hundred feet up in the air on a flat roof. Your knees wobble, you feel a bit vulnerable, and you feel closer to the skies than ever, and you realize you’re so small in all of the madness. All I could do was realize the human need for a loving Savior who reconciles creation back to its creator, who heals through forgiveness, who softens hearts to desire His reign, and who ushers in eternal life. Jesus has done all of that and more, so He is who we need.” - source : K-LOVE
