Olivia Rodrigo Performs “all-american bitch”, “get him back!” & “pretty isn't pretty” on VEVO Live Performance
American singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo performed “all-american bitch”, “get him back!” and “pretty isn't pretty” on VEVO Live performance.
It is her first performance on VEVO in two years since the 2021 VEVO Lift.
The videos were directed by Skyler Brown, who filmed at the Million Dollar Theater in Los Angeles.
Two songs are featured on her sophomore album “GUTS”, which was released back in September.
The album comprises a 12-track, produced by Dan Nigro. Olivia Rodrigo said of the album, “Lots of the new songs are about growing up rather than breakups.”
The album has nominations for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
The ceremony of the Grammy Awards will be held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 4, 2024.- “all-american bitch” and “get him back!” were written by Olivia Rodrigo and Dan Nigro.
Olivia Rodrigo told Apple Music about “all-american bitch”, “It's one of my favorite songs I've ever written. I really love the lyrics of it and I think it expresses something that I've been trying to express since I was 15 years old—this repressed anger and feeling of confusion, or trying to be put into a box as a girl.”
She continued to say about “get him back”, “Dan and I were at Electric Lady Studios in New York and we were writing all day. We wrote a song that I didn't like and I had a total breakdown. I was like, 'God, I can't write songs. I'm so bad at this. I don't want to.' Being really negative. Then we took a break and we came back and we wrote 'get him back!' Just goes to show you: Never give up.” -
“pretty isn't pretty” was written by Olivia Rodrigo, Dan Nigro and Amy Allen.
She said of “pretty isn't pretty”, “In this time period, I was super obsessed with social media. I would look for things that would hurt my feelings all the time and compare myself to everyone. I felt like my life was only what I showed to others. I didn't feel like my life was any deeper than my Instagram feed. That's a really troubling mindset to be in as a teenager.”
VEVO's JP Evangelista said, “Olivia had a clear vision for this series, and it was a privilege to be her creative partner and help her execute exactly what she had in mind. She's an immense talent - between her knack for storytelling, powerful lyrics and dedication to deep fan connections, there's no doubt that this is such an important moment for Olivia.” - source : VEVO
