The Veronicas Premieres New Song “Detox” on ABC triple j Good Nights
Australian pop duo The Veronicas, consisting of Lisa Origliasso and Jessica Origliasso, premiered a new song “Detox” on ABC triple j Good Nights with Latifa Tee.
The song is the second single off of their upcoming sixth studio album “Gothic Summer”, following the release of “Perfect” back in October.
The track was written by Eva Busacker Arnby, Jessica Origliasso, John Feldmann, and Lisa Origliasso.
Produced by John Feldmann. The accompanying music video was directed by Pat Freyne.
The song is a wild fusion, a pop rock that switches into scar towards the end of the track.
The duo told Latifa Tee about the song, “This is our second single from our upcoming album 'Gothic Summer' this track is called 'Detox' and it's about the chaos and hypnosis of a toxic relationship. But it's a super hype track. We've got some scar in there, pop punk, and it's just meant to be played really loudly.”- The new album is expected to be released in early 2024. It is their first album in three years since the 2021 album “Human”.
Also, the album is the first release under their new label Big Noise. The duo left Sony Music in 2022 and signed to Big Noise.
The duo embarks on Gothic Summer Tour in support of the album in USA. The tour kicks off at The Fillmore in San Francisco on April 3, 2024 and will conclude at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on May 5, 2024.
