JP Saxe Teams Up With Carla Morrison for New Version of “Anywhere”
Los Angeles-based Canadian singer-songwriter JP Saxe teamed up with Mexican indie-pop singer-songwriter Carla Morrison to release a new version of “Anywhere” on December 1, 2023.
The original version is featured on his sophomore album “A Grey Area”, which was released back in September.
The track was written by Michael Pollack, Stefan Johnson, Jordan K Johnson, James Ho, Carla Patricia Morrison Flores, and Juan Alejandro Jiménez Pérez. Produced by Malay.
This time, Carla Morrison sings the song in Spanish.
JP Saxe shared on social media, “Being with someone can mean more than being beside them. this song is our way of saying that, in spanish and in english, to the people we love. The first time I heard Carla sing this I was in tears.”- JP Saxe said of the song, “Why are the most loving things we say to comfort each other always about things we can’t possibly know for sure? a dying parent telling you everything will be okay. a friend joins the military and says they’ll be back before you know it. It’s loving - it feels honest, even if it ends up not being true. I wrote this song thinking about the sincerity in how we can tell someone we’ll always be there, and the humanness in how we can’t always mean it.”
