Trevor Horn Covers Yes' “Owner Of A Lonely Heart” featuring Rick Astley
British record producer Trevor Horn will release his covers album “ECHOES - ANCIENT & MODERN” on December 1, 2023.
On the album, Trevor Horn has taken 11 iconic tracks from '80s to '90s and reinvented them with different vocalists and brand-new orchestral arrangements.
The album features guest appearances from Tori Amos, Seal, The Sarm Orchestra, Rumer, Marc Almond, Iggy Pop, Lambrini Girls, Steve Hogarth, Toyah Willcox, Robert Fripp, Andrea Corr, and Jack Lukeman.
Trevor Horn said of the album, “Finding the right singers was as important as finding the songs, probably more so. It's an album by me, as a kind of auteur. I'm the artist commissioning other artists rather than them hiring me.”
He continued, “Building a feeling into a song is a tricky, intangible thing to do. There are lots of technical and psychological short cuts to recording a song, but none to actually make it feel real. This time, British singer-songwriter Rick Astley joined in the song as vocals.
The song is the fifth single off of the album.
The original version of the song was released by Yes from their eleventh studio album “90125” in 1983. The song reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
The track was written by Jon Anderson, Trevor Horn, Trevor Rabin, and Chris Squire. The cover version was produced by Trevor Horn. -
