Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Bonnie McKee released a new song “Don't Get Mad Get Famous” on November 3, 2023.
The song is the third single off of her upcoming sophomore album “Hot City”, following “SLAY” and “Hot City”.
The new album is expected to be released in 2023. It is her first album in 19 years since the 2004 debut album “Trouble”.
The track was written by Bonnie McKee, John Stuart Newman, and Sean Walsh. Produced by Bonnie McKee, and David Mørup.
Bonnie McKee shared on social media, “After years of sitting on a mountain of songs I love, I can't tell you how satisfying it is to finally be releasing them. Don't Get Mad Get Famous is a quirky lil bop I wrote about ignoring the haters and being fabulous no matter what, and my sweet #Bonbons have been asking for this one for ten years! It's the shortest song I've ever released, so if it's too short for you I guess you'll just have to stream her again!”- She continued, “I started writing her with John Newman & Sean Walsh 10 years ago, but abandoned her when I left the label. Y'all asked for her so I took her out of the vault for you, but when I sat down to 'finish' her, I decided she was perfect just the way she was! David Morup & I reproduced her and gave her a much needed update, but the lyric felt like a complete statement to me, so I left her alone. She was originally gonna just be an interlude, but then... well, she slapped. Hope you love her as much as I do!.”
