Devlin & Ed Sheeran Team Up for New Song “The Great British Bar Off”
British rapper Devlin and British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran teamed up again to release a new song “The Great British Bar Off” on October 27, 2023.
This marks the third collaboration between Devlin and Ed Sheeran since the 2011 collaborative song “Young Guns” with Lewi White and Yasmin, Griminal, and the 2012 song “Watchtower”.
The song is the first single off Devlin's upcoming album “James Devlin”.
The track was written and produced by Ed Sheeran, Devlin, Lewi White and Jimmy Sharp. The accompanying music video was directed by James Hanna. The accompanying music video was directed by James Hanna.
Also, the track is dedicated to the late Jamal Edwards, who was founder of the online R&B/Hip-Hop platform SB.TV.
Both artists of Devlin and Ed Sheeran were supported by Jamal Edwards and succeed.
Devlin said of the song, “Me and Ed back-to-back on this one feels nostalgic, a lot of fun to write and a homage to Jamal Edwards.”- This time, a music video was filmed at the same location, where Devlin recorded his breakout F64 clip for SBTV over a decade ago.
Executive Producer Nicky Caulfield of SBTV said of the video, “It's been a real honour to have been part of the release of Devlin and Ed's new track. Returning to exact location of Devlin's F64's for SBTV 13 years ago”.
Ed Sheeran said, “The start of my career is so intrinsically linked with Jamal Edwards and Devlin. Most of my first videos people know me for, Jamal shot with me and Devs for SB.TV. Me and Dev wanted to take it back to 2010 with this one and do a bar for bar we call The Great British Bar Off. It's from Devlins upcoming album The James Devlin Album which is coming soon.
