John Newman Releases New Song “Guiding Light”
London-based singer-songwriter and DJ John Newman released a new song “Guiding Light” on October 20, 2023.
The song is the follow-up to the collaborative song “Call Your Name” with Swedish DJ Alesso, which was released back in July.
The track was written by John Newman, Philip Cook, and Tinashe Enock Kudzai Fazakerley. Produced by John Newman.
Also, the song is the first music after becoming a father and a tribute to his daughter.
John Newman said of the song, “'Guiding Light' is a track that I felt I needed to produce for my daughter. Having this new life with us has been so inspiring. I love the idea that I can make songs for her that she can listen to throughout her lifetime, with 'Guiding Light' being the first. For the production, I wanted to make a record that transported back to that UK radio sound I started out in. But, at the same time, I also wanted to challenge the big, uplifting dance track formula with Godfather-like strings and invigorating techno drives that I've been vibing with lately.
