The Veronicas Announces New Album “Gothic Summer”, Shares New Song “Perfect”
Australian pop duo The Veronicas, consisting of Lisa Origliasso and Jessica Origliasso, has announced their sixth studio album “Gothic Summer” will be released in early 2024 via Big Noise.
The album is their first body of work in three years since the 2021 album “Human”. Also, it is their first album under their new label Big Noise.
The duo left Sony Music in 2022 and signed to Big Noise in the US for future releases.
From the album, the duo released the first single called “Perfect” on October 20, 2023.
The track was written by Jessica Origliasso, Lisa Origliasso, John Feldmann, Travis Barker, and Sierra Deaton. Co-produced by Ryan Linville.
The accompanying music video was directed by Bradley Murnane.
The Veronicas said of the song, “Perfect is a love letter to our younger and current selves. Perfection has a different meaning for everyone. Social media has changed how we interact with the world. Perception versus reality is rewarded and condemned.”- The duo continued, “From what people wear to who they date. It's like a magnifying glass. We just want to remind everyone to empower themselves and free their minds. We all die in the end; we have to live with and love ourselves fiercely, first and foremost. On our deathbed, the only opinion that will matter on how you've lived will be your own.”
