Kris Kross Amsterdam Teams Up With SERA & Conor Maynard for New Song “Stay (Never Leave)”
Dutch DJ trio Kris Kross Amsterdam, consisting of Jordy Huisman, Sander Huisman and Yuki Kempees, teamed up with Dutch singer-songwriter SERA and British singer-songwriter Conor Maynard to release a new song “Stay (Never Leave)” on October 6, 2023.
The song interpolates American singer-songwriter Lumidee's 2003 debut song “Never Leave You (Uh Oooh, Uh Oooh)”.
The track was written by Eddie Perez, Lumidee, Steven 'Lenky' Marsden and Teddy Mendez. Produced by Kris Kross Amsterdam, Joren van der Voort, Will Grands and Niels Zuiderhoek.
Yuki Kempees told Domien Verschuuren of Qmusic about the song in an interview, “Sometimes a song stays on the shelf for a long time. This song had been in our project for almost three years. You then start thinking of artists and sometimes you just miss an ingredient and then suddenly it all comes together. In this case that happened through Sera and Conor Maynard.”
SERA added, “I had indeed made a version. Then I heard through the grapevine that Kris Kross Amsterdam was working on the same song and then I thought: 'who can I make it better with than with them?' So we played our versions together, mixed them and then this became it.”- source : Apple Music
