  • Karen Harding Releases Debut Album “Take Me Somewhere” with New Music Video for “Wild Wild Water”

  • British singer-songwriter Karen Harding released her debut album “Take Me Somewhere” along with a new music video for “Wild Wild Water” directed by Tiago Mathias on September 29, 2023.

The album comprises 13-track, with guest appearances from Digital Farm Animals, Shift K3Y, and Armand Van Helden.
Produced by Armand Van Helden, Bradford Ellis, Digital Farm Animals, Franklin, Jon Kong, MNEK, OG Mason, Shift K3Y, St. Louis and Tim Law.
She debuted with “Say Something” in 2014. The album is a true labour of love that’s been a decade in the making and an overarching record reflecting the different moods, feelings and pivotal moments of Karen Harding’s life.
Karen Harding said of the album, “I've been writing songs pretty much non-stop since 'Say Something'. I feel like this album is the culmination of all that hard work. It's definitely a dance album, but I've made sure it has real moments of light and shade.”
She added about the album title, “I'm someone who likes to tell it like it is. I'd been trying to think of album titles that sounded a bit arty-farty or whatnot, but I suddenly realised that's just not my vibe!”

Karen Harding shared on social media, “When I first started making music, I dreamt of making an album. Well, dreams come true, and now I'm here releasing a body of work that comes straight from my heart and shows my identity as an artist. A surreal moment.
'Take me Somewhere'has been years in the making and it's now ready. To everyone who has worked on this with me, thank you so much. I'm pinching myself right now. This is so exciting, I can't wait for you to hear this special album and hopefully let it 'take you somewhere'...”

  • Karen Harding explained about some tracks for the album.

“Morning” with Shift K3Y via The LUNA Collective
“'Morning' was so much fun to write, and Shift K3Y did his thing. I love his style and was honored when he wanted to work on it with me.”

    “Back to You”
“‘Back To You’ follows the moments of doubt you feel when you get into a new relationship, but you know that it’s gonna be fine and will all work out. I loved working on this record with Rob Harvey and Ollie Green, we had so much fun in the studio that day and we were all feeling the positivity that runs through the song! I hope it can take people to that positive place when they might be going through hardships with their partner. I love the big sing along chorus and can’t wait to perform it live.”

    “Other Side of Love”
“I wrote this song years ago with Belle Humble and Chris Lorenzo. It was in a totally different space sonically, but it’s always been a special track to me as it signifies my personal journey to love. It’s all about getting past the tough stuff you face throughout relationships and finding yourself able to overcome any obstacle with your partner. I knew that Franklin was going to bring something special to this record and take it to the next level. Hope you like it as much as I do.”

    “Wrong Places”
“It's such a cool, vibey single that sounds different from anything I've done before. I've recorded a lot of house music over the years, but I've also released some more leftfield dance songs and 'Wrong Places' feels like a nod in that more leftfield direction.”

“Wings (I Won't Let You Down)” with Armand Van Helden
"When I heard Wings, it instantly made me feel nostalgia. I didn't want to take away from the original because it has such a great message so I was honoured to be able to to add to the idea and I love the story. I hope that it can transport listeners to a good place. Buzzed to work with the legend Armand Van Helden, I'm a big fan and it was so exciting to work with him on this record."

    “Wild Wild Water”
“‘Wild Wild Water’ is such a special record for me. It was written at a time in my life when I was a bit nervous about taking the next step. I wanted to write it from a different perspective and how would I say it to a friend... In the music world I think every creative has doubts at times, and this is really about that. It’s about picking yourself up, taking a risk and seeing where it leads you.”

“Say Something” via The LUNA Collective
“With all those songs, I just knew I couldn’t leave them out. They have formed my identity as an artist in their own ways. I wanted to take people on my journey and hopefully they can get on board and enjoy!”

    “Sweet Vibrations”
“I just went with what resonated with me the most. Sometimes in sessions, I came out of it and just knew we did something amazing and all the records were on that wavelength. I wanted to share different vibes.”
