Leigh-Anne Premieres New Song “My Love” featuring Ayra Starr on BBC Radio 1
British singer-songwriter and former Little Mix, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, aka Leigh-Anne premiered a new song “My Love” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
This time, she teamed up with Nigerian singer-songwriter Ayra Starr on the track.
For her, the song is the second single as a solo artist, following “Don't Say Love”.
The track was written by Alex Goldblatt, Ayra Starr, Dayo Olatunji, Kameron Glasper, Kameron Glasper, Kareem Olasunkanmi Temitayo, Khristopher Riddick-Tynes, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Ras Kassa Alexander.
Produced by Alex Goldblatt, Khris Riddick-Tynes, Magicsticks, and PRGRSHN.
Leigh-Anne told Clara Amfo about the song, “The moment we wrote this song in the studio, I knew it was special. Like I knew it had everything that I was looking for in terms of that, like arrival and like, just everything that encapsulated me as an artist like I just knew it was the one but I felt I really want to tell my friends on a journey as well. So like don't say love was like the perfect introduction. I've got to tell my story. But this one is like this is just me. Yeah, I have no words.”- She said about the collaboration with Ayra Starr, “So I knew I wanted to feature on the song. Absolutely love Ayra Starr loved her for a while. So I wanted to reach out. I reached out to her. And luckily she was a little bit my fan. So that was great. So then we went to the studio. I paid it to her she loved it. Put verse down. And I was like, no changes, thanks, like she absolutely killed it. She's unbelievable, so talented. I'm honored to have her on the song.”

She said of her journey as solo artist, “Of course like that. They are my sisters. And I think it's always gonna get some getting used to like being on my own now. But I definitely feel like now is the right time for me. Like I feel more confident now than ever. I do and I think I had my first performance like the other week, and I feel like I just needed that to be like, right? No more doubts. I'm bored of doubting myself like I'm so ready for this. And that's my attitude now.”
She added, “I wouldn't have been ready for this five years ago. No, no way. I feel like everything happens for a reason like had the most incredible time and a Mix and I feel like that really equipped me for this journey now and like prepared me. And yeah, I don't think I would be in this position right now in this readying.”
