The Dollyrots Drops New Music Video for “Night Owl”
Last month, American punk rock band The Dollyrots, consisting of Kelly Ogden (vocals/bass), Luis Cabezas (guitar), announced their new album “Night Owl” would be released on October 13, 2023.
It is their first body of work in four years since the 2019 album “Daydream Explosion”.
The album comprises 13-track. Kelly Ogden said of the album, “You know how they say a band's first album is usually their best? Well, I think because we had time for this one, you know, since the world stopped due to Covid, it's a lot like a first album. We had so many bits and pieces and once we could finally get into the studio it all just flew out of us, like we had been holding something vital & urgent in for years. Because we had. If you love The Dollyrots you'll love 'Night Owls'. If you don't know The Dollyots, you'll probably love it too.”- From the album, the band released the title track on August 11, 2023.
The track was written and produced by Kelly Ogden and Luis Cabezas, with production by John Fields.
Two weeks later they dropped the Steven Shea-directed music video for the song.
Kelly Ogden said of the video, “We cut the 'Night Owl' video in Los Angeles. The streets of the city are the place where we spent so many reckless nights running from rock show to rock show, cutting our teeth in the music scene. We're a different kind of Night Owl now, making music & allowing creativity to happen after we put the kids to sleep." -
