Lauv Releases New Song “Love U Like That”
Back in June, American singer-songwriter Lauv joined in Disney/Pixar's 2023 film “Elemental” soundtrack and controbuted a new song “Steal the Show”.
Following the song, he unveiled a new song “Love U Like That” on August 4, 2023.
The song will appear on his upcoming third studio album.
Lauv shared on social media, “And then I'm finishing the album. And then there'll be a new album. And it's gonna be the most honest, raw, AND FUN & LOVING album I've ever made. And I'm not sure what I'm going to call it yet, but it's on the tip of my tongue. Honestly, I can't believe it. It's coming. Something huge.”
The track was written by Ari Leff, Federico Vindver, and Annika Bennett. Produced by Lauv and Federico Vindver.
Lauv said of the song, “I'm so insanely proud of this new song because it marks the beginning of a new era for me. A song about realizing you're into something you didn't think you were into and empowering yourself to go for it and not judge yourself and let society or ideas sway you from it. It's the beginning of a journey, it's a proud start.”- He co-directed the music video with Gian Rivera, which is his directorial debut.
Lauv said of the video, “This video is about freedom of expression and what it means to authentically be you. It’s about not being afraid to find the most authentic, truest version of yourself, even though it’s a lifelong, evolving, process. I loved co-directing my first video and I hope it makes people feel like they don’t have to settle for staying the person societal norms or their previous life experiences have told them they need to be and instead, open themselves up to new ways of expressing themselves.” -
Recently, he came out as bisexual on social media, “I'm going through an interesting time, where for years, you may know I've struggled with OCD and anxiety really badly. And one of the things I've obsessed about has been my sexuality.”
He continued, “I've pushed it down a lot and I felt like this is anxiety and not actually a real thing. Like I would feel feelings or like feel a connection or a vibe or desire or something, and would just shut it down. Obviously I've dated exclusively women in my life so far.”
He added, “I don't really have any particular answers yet, other than it's something that I'm exploring in my music and exploring in my mind, and I'm going to be exploring in my life.” - source : Apple Music
