Cassadee Pope Releases New Song “Almost There”
American singer-songwriter Cassadee Pope released a new song “Almost There” on July 21, 2023.
The song is the second single her returning to pop-punk from country music, following “People That I Love Leave” released back in April.
The track was written by Cassadee Pope, Nick Furlong, and Christina Galligan. Produced by Nick Furlong.
The accompanying music video was directed by Ed Pryor.
Cassadee Pope said of the song, “I think a lot of us are taught from an early age that indulging our desires is shameful and not ladylike. It was only when I started to shed that shame and embrace my sensual nature that I began feeling like myself. For this song, I wanted to let people see a side of me they haven't seen before and validate them in their own desires.”- pNS29kMG3uo

Cassadee Pope told James Wilson-Taylor of Rock Sound about her punk pop roots, “My history in country music as a songwriter has helped me tremendously in this new chapter because I have a new sense of myself in songwriting and just making sure that I am telling a story in the song and I love a good catchy song that's just kind of not meaningless but it's just a sing-along and it's the purpose of the song is to be a hit I love those kinds of songs, but I gravitate more towards that storytelling aspect bringing that into the pop punk writing sessions has been really cool and I'm not saying y'all and all those country words and these songs but I'm still telling stories which is something I've really learned to do since being here in Nashville.”
She released the third studio album “Thrive” in 2021, which is a blend of pop and country. She said, “While I'm really proud of that record, it didn't quite translate and it didn't land the way that I wanted it to. I started thinking about it and my heart wanted to go back to rock music.”-
