Corey Taylor Releases New Song “Post Traumatic Blues”
American heavy metal band Slipknot's frontman and singer-songwriter Corey Taylor released a new song “Post Traumatic Blues” on July 11, 2023.
The song is the second single off of his upcoming second solo album “CMF2”, following “Beyond” released back in May.
It was written and produced by Corey Taylor with production by Jay Ruston.
“'Post Traumatic Blues' is my attempt to describe for people what it's like to deal with PTSD,” Corey Taylor said of the song in a press release. “Sometimes it's so hard for people to understand the ups and downs, the severity of the cold and numbness, that I wanted to try and build a bridge lyrically between the ones living with the disease and the ones who are trying to help them.”
The new album comprises 13-track and is set to be released on September 15, 2023.
It is his first boy of work in three years since the 2020 debut solo album “CMFT”.- Corey Taylor launched the non-profit Taylor Foundation in 2022 that helps service members and first responders deal with PTSD.
He said, "During my career, I've been privileged to have many veterans and people in emergency service support me, telling me how much my music has helped them with everything they've had to endure - from combat to stress on the job to the inevitable repercussions that come from PTSD. Now, it's my turn to give back as much as I can to them."
